Flower Seeds: Study in the Daisies

When my wife went back to school she had a hard time keeping up with the reading that college required. She'd complete an associated degree in general studies – years ago. Now she worked half-days at a daycare, studied in the afternoons, and attended classes in a degree completion program at night.
Her problem was simple. It was hard to find a peaceful place in the house. We had two kids in their "tween" years – not yet teenagers, but almost. Sarah was 11, Tommy was 12. There was always a television on, always someone playing games on a computer, always someone talking on the phone – you get the idea.
One day last fall she was cleaning out the flower beds that surround our back patio and the thought came to her… She'd never really considered studying out here. She loved the flower beds. The temperate climate in our south Florida home meant she could plant flower seeds all year long. And she loved it out on the patio. So now that's where she studies. And it's worked well for her.
